Video Production
Creating a video is a multi-disciplinary process that I handle entirely from start to finish. Acting as a one-man production house, I manage every stage of the pipeline: from initial concept and scripting to cinematography, editing, and the final audio master.
While my two channels require different technical environments, the core principles of my work remain the same:
- Digital Cinematography (IQprof): For my gaming content, I translate traditional filmmaking techniques into the digital space. This involves managing in-game lighting, framing cinematic B-roll, and focusing on composition to turn gameplay into a structured, narrative experience.
- Physical Production (Robin Chong): On my personal channel, I apply these same techniques to the physical world using a Sony ZV-E10. Here, my focus shifts to managing physical lighting conditions, on-site audio capture, and high-fidelity cinematography to document my learning journey.
Post-Production & Mastering
All of my work is edited in DaVinci Resolve. I utilize its professional suite to color grade footage and use its integrated DAW Fairlight to mix and master audio. This ensures that every video, whether real-life or in-game, has crisp, balanced sound and a cohesive cinematic aesthetic. Ultimately, I combine these technical disciplines to create authentic, high-impact content. My goal is to tell meaningful stories that I like myself and inspire others to undertake their own creative or educational endeavors.
Brandon Fouche Review Video (Apr 1, 2026)
This documentary-style review shows the transformation of my fear-aggressive rescue dog Rocky over the span of just seven days. After five years of failed traditional training, the video details my experience working with behaviorist Brandon Fouche and how his natural methodology beats any traditional dog training.
- Cinematic Color Grading: All “talking head” shots were color graded for visual consistency and depth.
- Custom Audio Production: Enhanced the primary background track with custom drum layers to better drive the narrative pace.
- Multi-Source Editing: Integrated footage from our archives and other sources to create a seamless, evidence-based timeline.
- Narrative Architecture: Structured the script to transition from a high-stakes hook into a clear, chronological history.
Why you should create a YouTube Channel in this day and age! (Jul 13, 2024)
This video serves as the foundational introduction to my personal YouTube channel. Drawing on the principles of utilitarianism, I explore why creating digital content is a net positive for both the creator and the world. The video outlines the “Documentation of Learning” philosophy, arguing that YouTube is a unique medium for self-reflection, skill expansion, and connecting with others through shared human experiences.
- Custom Music Composition: I composed and produced the chapter-transition tracks to create a cohesive and professional auditory identity for the video.
- Scripting: The narrative was structured to combine existing ideas from another YouTuber with my own perspectives, creating a unique and comprehensive deep-dive.
- Cinematic Intro: I created a cinematic introduction to set a professional tone of the video ahead.
Introducing the Most Underrated SMP Server Ever (Apr 3, 2025)
This video is a retrospective documentary of the 10-year history of the “IQcommunity,” my private Minecraft community I founded at age 13. The video follows the evolution of the server across six seasons, showcasing my growth from basic builds to complex industrial factories and massive architectural projects. It serves as a narrative world tour, blending nostalgia with a showcase of my long-term commitment to community building and digital design.
- Virtual Cinematography: I utilized a wide range camera techniques, including sweeping overhead flyovers and static “talking head” shots, to transform digital gameplay into a visually engaging story.
- Hybrid Storytelling: I combined humorous, personal commentary with technical “devlog” style reporting, balancing entertainment with a clear documentation of my creative and technical progress.
- Original Soundtrack: I composed and produced every track in the video, using custom music to drive the narrative pace and establish the emotional tone of each era.
The IQprof Phase 3 Era Starts Now! (Apr 20, 2024)
After a 2.5-year hiatus to focus on university studies, this video marks my return to content creation. It serves as a high-energy transition from my archive of nearly 200 videos into a new “third era” of production. By reflecting on eight years of growth, this project sets the stage for a more refined, passion-driven approach to storytelling and technical education.
- Hybrid Narrative: I synthesized years of archival footage with new production to create a cohesive timeline, demonstrating my ability to manage long-term media assets and maintain a consistent brand identity.
- Virtual & Physical Cinematography: The video opens with a cinematic sequence that transitions into a fast-paced montage, effectively blending real-life footage with digital environments to create a more personal connection with the audience.
- Original Soundtrack & Audio Sync: I composed a custom, upbeat soundtrack specifically designed to drive the video’s momentum. The edit relies heavily on rhythmic synchronization between the audio peaks and visual transitions to maximize viewer engagement.
